I love books. My favorite hobby is reading. One of my most favorite writers is Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. “Pather Panchali” is a book I just finished reading. It was written by Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. It is a well-known novel of Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. The central character of the book is Apu, a young villager. Apu, Durga, Harihar, and Sarbajaya are the key characters of the book. A rural couple named Harihar and Sarbajaya lived in miserable suffering. However, they imagined a happy future.Their children are Apu and Durga. Durga passed away too soon. The family was greatly shocked by it. While reading about the passing of Apu’s dearest sister Durga, one cannot help but cry. The book gives an unforgettable picture of the charm of a little Bengali village. The tale serves as a reminder of the suffering endured by our nation’s thousands of poor and defenseless citizens. In reality, it is Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s everlasting masterpiece.

Books are our real friend. I love to read books. But I don’t have much time to read anything outside textbooks. However, when I learned about “Ramer Sumati” written by Saratchandra Chattopadhyay. I was thoroughly charmed by the story. Saratchandra is my favorite writer. So I just purchased a copy of the book and I read it page by page. The story is mainly about a family from rural Bengal. Ramlal is the main character; also Shyamlal, his stepbrother, Narayani and Shyamlal’s wife are a part of the story. Apart from them, there are Digambari, his mother-in-law and Shyamla’s son . When Ramlal was just two and a half years old, his mother passed away. His sister-in-law, Narayani, raised him with motherly love and devotion. Digambari could not stand the two of them and their charming chemistry. All issues came from Ramlal’s extreme waywardness. Ramlal was separated from his family and the ancestral home was divided because of Narayani. The way the author presented Ramlal and Narayani is unique. The story has sadness and also happiness. The bond between family members and the downfall of their family made my heart ache.  In this brief space, it is impossible to discuss the book in detail. But it was an amazing book and everyone should read it.

My favorite hobby is reading. I just finished reading “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare. It is great work. The main character of the book is Prospero. He was an intelligent man. He disliked being just a Duke in charge of Milan. His knowledge was his strength. Taking advantage of this his brother Antonio plotted to expel him from Milan with the help of King Alonso of Naples.

Eventually, Prospero and his daughter found refuge on an alien island. Prospero had little knowledge of the mysterious nature of the place. A malevolent ghost named Caliban resided on that island. Prospero used his white magic to gradually conquer Caliban and rise to a position of great power. Caliban tried in vain to tempt Miranda. Ferdinand, the prince of Naples, finally arrived in the mysterious land. When Miranda first laid eyes on a handsome young man, she was terrified.

But later Ferdinand and Miranda fell in love. Ferdinand’s love for his daughter was something Prospero intended to test. Prospero’s mind was won over by Ferdinand. Prospero taught everyone, even his brother, valuable lessons with his white magic. Sebastian, Antonio, and Alonso became aware of their mistake. Gonzalo received compensation for once assisting Prospero in escaping from his vengeful brother.

Everyone was reunited at last. Prospero brought his daughter back to Milan and set free Ariel. Ariel was the spirit that had assisted him in achieving his goals. The play’s pleasant reunion suggests that Prospero is a significant character who utilizes his white magic, helping everyone come together despite differences. Goodness and honesty have received rewards. While reading the play, I experienced great aesthetic delight. Shakespeare’s use of language and style, as well as the way he combined comedy with tragedy, had a calming impact on me that I will never forget.
